The Friendship Project is in the process of developing an exciting new concept - Friendship Circles!
We believe that friendships are a valuable part of a fulfilling life, but understand that maintaining friendships can be challenging. Friendship Circles support the young adults of the Friendship Project in developing meaningful and lasting friendships with members of the greater community.
Each Friendship Circle is created for a specific individual, bringing together a network of up to three people who commit to spending one on one time with the young adult, based on mutual interests and lifestyles. Volunteers are asked to commit to meeting at least once a month with their Friendship Project match. Time can be spent in any number of ways. Going out for dinner or coffee, festivals, movies, swimming, video games, crafts, and cycling are a few examples of the ways Friendship Project participants enjoy spending their time.
Friendship Circles are supported by the Friendship Project Facilitator to ensure that things are going smoothly and to help address any concerns.
We are in the initial stages of developing 'Friendship Circles', and very excited to see where the concept takes us.
